The history of the sport

Table tennis originated from a combination of different sports. Tennis in particular. Table tennis was probably first played at the end of the 19th century. In 1926 the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) was formed in Berlin with Denmark, Germany, England, Hungary, India, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Wales and Sweden as members. Later that year the USA also became a member.
